NEPRA Allows Rs1.11/kWh August Fuel Adjustment, Cutting CPPA-G's Claim by a Third
NEPRA has notified a positive fuel charges adjustment of Rs1.1086/kWh for electricity consumed in August 2026. It is being recovered in October bills.
CPPA-G had claimed an actual fuel cost of Rs8.8265/kWh against the reference of Rs7.0998, which would have meant an adjustment of Rs1.7267. After its own adjustments, NEPRA set the actual fuel cost at Rs8.2084. The allowed adjustment is 35.8% lower than the claim, by our calculation.
The adjustment applies to all categories of ex-WAPDA DISCO and K-Electric consumers, under the federal policy of uniform FCAs, and to consumption under the Incremental Consumption Package. Lifeline users, EV charging stations and prepaid consumers are excluded. Dawn put the total at about Rs16 billion.
The September FCA was heard on 17 October. The fuel line will matter more next year: CPPA-G's 2027 projection assumes an annual average of Rs10.141/kWh, as covered in our note on the 2027 power purchase price.
